What is your opinion of
the Dallas Show releases?
*I adore the new releases. They are far more cute and the new
fabrics are great!!
*I love the new Beanies-Cheezer is my favorite because I love
mice. Runner is different, and Peek-a-boo has nice colors. My
only disappointment- I waited for years to have a Beanie on my
birthday-and I've finally got one...but it's Squirmy the Worm!
A worm! <Sigh>
*Very well done this round in my opinon. Cashew is a wonderful,
creamy color. I love the softness and cuddle factor in the fabric.
Lefty and Righty are wild, I am not sure I like them, they are
definatley unique. The dogs were darling, Fetcher is by far my
favorite, he fits in your hand perfectly. I didn't care for Cheezer,
and Cinders was recycled. Squirmy is a kids dream! Very cute beanie.
* They are okay, but I'm not going to buy any of them. None of
them really look special to me. Maybe I would buy Lefty 2000 if
they sold that one in Canada.
* The quality of the new beanies as a whole are a lot better both
in design and manufacturing. I do not care for Lefty or Righty
2000. They are too gaudy.
* Would like to have seen pictures immediately upon their release
all the speculation was annoying. Any other company when unveiling
new product is more than happy to have pictures released immediately.
Was pleased with the quick shipment of this group and most are
very appealing. Some have already begun to be shelf sitters and
he should not produce so many of these and retire them quickly.
* Great Beanies but need more bears and cats
* These beanies did not make me want to run out and buy them all.
I did want to get my hands on the US exclusives, but not really
because of the visual appeal...more the collector appeal. My husband
even commented on how ugly USA was and that he thought I should
just buy the pretty bears.....ha ha. He just wanted me to slow
down buying them.
* Lots of cuties in this batch! I am trying to stop collecting
them all but special ones, but there were many in this batch that
appalled to me. Righty 2000 and Lefty 2000 are both cute, Cheezer
is adorable, and Cashew is very cuddly soft. I also got Cinders
to pair up with Aurora, and Fetcher and Sniffer since I like all
the dogs. I like how they are laying on their sides.
* like most of them, however, they are different than the older
ones. I don't care much for the ones that have the ears or hands
sewn down. Cashew should be like Almond and Pecan. I am extremely
disappointed in the beagle. I waited so long for one..and he's
not even Beagle colored!
* I really like the new beanies but there are aolt of old designs,
just different colors, ex.Cinders. I like the fact of the Righty
and Lefty being US exculsive.
* We like them ok, Lefty/Righty 2000 were neat, can't wait to
get India and my daughter has to have the Flitter Buddy!
*I THOUGHT THEY WERE SOME REALLY NICE BEANIES BUT SOME GREAT BUDDIES
* i LOVE cheezer. he's absolutely darling! i think lefty and righty
are not nearly as cute as the previous lefty and righty. the 2
dogs are really nice. i like the fact that they have a different
"pose" than other beanie baby dogs
* They are extremely adorable!!! Some of the best from Ty yet--especially
Cheezer! I am disappointed with Lefty2000 and Righty2000 because
I would have hoped Ty would keep the same pattern instead of the
hideous sit-up designs!
* Honestly, I like most of the beanies, very cute and detailed.
Lefty and Righty 2000 are adorable but Ty should have released
these guys sooner, several other companies have had very cute
flag donkeys and elephants out on the shelves since May. Cashew
is nice but I would love to see Ty do some bears that were colors
other than brown and I am not impressed with cheezer because it
looks like a gerbil or a hamster with a tail. Squirmy was the
beanie that I was really surprised with, he is so much cuter in
person, I just had to give one to all of the kids I know.
*I really like the softness of the material.
*TY did a great job on this bunch.
What do you think of Ty's
new looking website; how appealing are the auctions on Ty Trade?
*I like the look of the new website...but it still runs a little
slow. The auctions don't appeal to me much because the prices
seem a little high. I'd stick with eBay for now. =)
*I like the website, but have not been able to get onto Ty trade
yet.
*I truly have no opinion on the website, I don't visit it. I do
think Ty trade is a mess, an should not have launched without
being fully prepared. From what I have heard the auctions are
scary to bid on with out any good solid reputations from sellers.
I would not bid on them unless there is good feedback and guaranteed
authenticity on older beanies.
*The new Ty website isn't as nice as the old one. I don't go to
Ty Trade. I'm not allowed to buy things on the Internet.
*Ty should not get into the auction business. Ebay can't handle
the flood of counterfeits...can TY...I think not. If Ty can't,
then he is in effect endorsing/promoting counterfeits.
* Until the site cleans up several errors it is more frustrating
than useful. Information is not complete and some info is wrong.
As far as the auction site is concerned it needs several improvements
in order to be user friendly. I personally did list an auction
and it did sell successfully for a good value but the seller notification
I received from Ty was wrong (a lower amount than the actual bid)
and if it wasn't for the buyer providing email info I wouldn't
have been sure that I had the right high bidder (the Ty site
only shows the user name no email address and there is no way
to confirm an email address). I wrote to Ty but received no response.
Fortunately the buyer did honor the proper high bid with no problem.
* So far tytrade has been one big bad joke to me, still awaiting
speckles. I doubt that once I get Speckles that I will frequent
it. Just keeping watching my favorite rumor sites for anything
new, mainly Yours. I don't see the need to have yet another auction
site and I will stick with eBay I think.
*I haven't really looked too closely at the auctions themselves.
I have been to "Ty"ed up trying to order my speckles.
* The website is attractive to look at. I don't surf there much
though so I don't know if it is easy to navigate. I have not checked
out any auctions yet.
* To me, not appealing. I don't care much for the auctions
* They are okay, but Ty Trade is so aggraverating to get on that
it is not any fun.
* The website looks fine - doesn't work that great all the time,
I am having trouble with the collectible corner section - no pull
down menus to add things to my wish list. I have looked at a few
auctions and am hesitant to bid due to lack of feedback.
What do you think Ty Warner meant when he said he was working
on something special for us?
* I AM FUSTRADED W/TY TRADE IT IS SO POORLY DONE ONE PROBLEM AFTER
ANOTHER. THEY NEED TO STEAL SOME COMON SENCE IDEAS OFF OF EBAY
[& I DON'T LIKE EBAY] I DON'T THINK IT'S USER FRIENDLY, BUT
COMPARED TO TY TRADE THEY LOOK GOOD. THE MOST CONVENINT USER FRIENDLY
SITE IS META EXCHANGE
* I CAN'T GET REGISTERED! I'M SO ANGRY THAT I WANT TO DO SOMETHING
AND I DON'T
KNOW WHAT TO DO!
* I am honestly a bigger fan of the WebTV Ty.com, because it is
more appealing [to me anyways], and it is so much faster to load!
:o)
* I like the new site but it still takes some time to load, kind
of like the gifs are too detailed. On the Ty Trade, I would love
to bid on some auctions but am wary of bidding when so many of
the auctions are by the same people. I wonder if people can post
their feedback from other sites, it would make me feel more secure
because ty trade doesn't have insurance like Ebay.
*The website looks good. Auctions do not appeal to me.
*The website looks great. My main concern however is that feedback
is not linked and therefore I am hesitant to bid without being
able to see feedback. We all know feedback is a big deciding factor
in what we choose to bid on and I think Ty needs to take this
into consideration. I think feedback from other sites should have
been linked and also I don't think there is a way to get the sellers
email address to ask questions of the seller either. On most auction
sites members can get in contact to ask questions.
What do you think Ty Warner
meant when he said he was working on something special for us?
*I think he's making a new product. With the success of Buddies
and Kids, I think he's trying to exceed even that. Either that
or some more new fabrics.
*I think it meant more new products, but I don't have room in
my house to have too many new things-I just stick to Beanie Babies.
*Same old same old. We've seen lots of special things, but they
have faded in their luster. The Ty trade Speckles was a great
idea, but has proved to be a big headache. The shipping of this
beanie is sporadic...and inconsistent. It's hard to get excited
about any announcement with previous "special" things
being a disappointment. Beanie Kids were a great addition to the
line, but even they are shelf sitting now.
* I'm not sure what you mean when you say that Ty said he is working
on something special for us.
* My guess would be more e-beanies/buddies/kids.
* It will be another new product of some sort.
* Probably another line of toys that once again won't appeal to
everyone. Beanie Kids have yet to grab my fancy and probably won't.
I have had the opportunity to get several of the kids at retail
price and have said
never mind. Here in our town they are sitting on the shelf and
not selling.
* It is definately not for us, but for his pocket book. I figure
it will be something like what he has done before, maybe a new
fabric like tysonic or something.
* It sounds like a new product line, but I can't imagine what
it is. The only thing he hasn't done with beanies yet is to make
them very small. It would be nice to make teenie beanies in a
high quality fabric like real beanies. But chances are that he
is going to release some special beanies that will only be available
in certain places, a little like the show exclusives last summer.
Don't like that idea since none of the cities are nearby.
* I am expecting the unexpected, but it will probably be something
of the same. I really hope that it will be something for us,,,the
consumer..
* More new beanies??? I hope so, collecting these little animals
are so fun and addicating.
* I think he is going to release something for Halloween. Beware!
Maybe Haloweenie Beanies (remember the comments about the trademarks)
or Halloween costumes.
Now that Ty has introduced Ty Trade to their site and it offers
news, pictures and auctions, how will other websites serve a purpose
to you? I really don't bid much - have gotten a few things from
E-Bay and do enjoy surfing E-bay due to it's variety. If I am
looking for something in particular, I will check TyTrade.
* MORE HYPE SORRY IF I SOUND SINACLE BUT WHEN IT COMES TO TY I
AM!!!! RESHIPPING 98 MAY RETIRED BEANIES 6 MONTHS LATER, SUMMER
EXCLUSIVES [THAT WAS A JOKE]
* more aggravation on the tytrade site? i know, sour grapes...
* As for Ty Trade, I love it!! It was a great solution for Ty
since he knows he can't stop the secondary market. Since he knows
he cannot stop it, why not be in charge of it by owning an auction
website--very sly idea!
* I wouldn't be surprize if comes out with a smaller line of beanies,
something like bitty beanies. That could make collecting hot again
because space seems to be one of the biggest problems collectors
have.
*More new types of items (like when the Beanie Kids was introduced).
*This is a hard question as there are so many possibilities. I
think we will see some new exciting holiday beanies and maybe
even buddies and kids. I REALLY would love an elf beanie this
year and a Mrs Santa would be darling to go with our Santa beanie.
Then there are the Macdonald's teenies rumored to be coming out
in November for the election. Of course there is the possibility
of a brand new Ty product too. With Ty the possibilities are endless.
All his products are great.
Now that Ty has introduced
Ty Trade to their site and it offers news, pictures and auctions,
how will other websites serve a purpose to you?
*I'll still stay with eBay for auctions...there are more to choose
from so the prices stay lower. The news and pictures are worth
visiting for. Better to get the news directly from the horse's
mouth.
*I tend to stick to things I am used to-I will always come back
to Beanieholics-it's my favorite.
*I'll continue to use the tried and true websites that offer consistency,
variances of opinons etc...
* Ty doesn't have rumours or counterfeit updates (as far as I
know), so there is still some stuff to read on other sites. I
have bookmarks for the cyberboard, so I never visit Ty's main
page and usually read Beanieholics t find out about retiremnets
or new Beanies.
* Yes, TY is too slow in disseminating info...I get news much
faster from other sites. Also TY doesn't always put out the word.
Recent examples include Light Blue Peanut, different fabric 2000
Signature and Kicks buddies.
* The Ty site has not been known to post correct info right from
the start. If it wasn't for sites such as yours we would be completely
in the dark. Ty does not post the news we are looking for and
certainly not in a timely manner.
With all the variations on beanies etc. we have never been able
to rely on Ty's site. Ty's site gives us apicture, birthdate and
poem that's it! As far as Cyberpoints are concerned the only ones
who will benefit from this will be the large secondary sellers.
The ordinary collector who has one or two extras of an item to
sell will never accumulate enough points to be of any value. I
think the lack of a trading site is also a disappointment to the
ordinary collector.
* I will still go to the sites that I also find good info on.
It would have to operate better than it has so far to get me to
frequent tyTrade too often.
* At this point, I haven't started doing any trades on Ty trade
because it is not very dependable.
* I think it will take quite a while for Tytrade to catch on,
so for now I will still depend on ebay.
* I still enjoy the other websites and find that I enjoy the news
on those better.
* I like using the autions when possible. It does not work for
me all the time because 95% of the time I can't log on or have
some sort of problems with Ty Trade. As I can tell by the Ty.com
site alot of other people have the same problem. If Ty shut the
site down to fix it maybe he needs to look at it again.
* META WILL PROBABLY ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE, YOUR LIST IS A REAL
NEAT, & SERVES AS A REAL NEWS SERVICE [NEWSFLASHES ETC.]
* ebay is still #1 because of the amount of auctions on it
* I think there could be something totally special in the works!!
A new line, or something of that such, or maybe he is just talking
about the introduction of Ty Gear, as it has not yet reached stores
yet! Maybe this
new announcement is where they will be introduced!
* I will always surf the other sites, I have done business through
many of them and have to honestly admit that Ty will have to prove
his trade site isn't just a way for big brother to keep a better
eye the collectors.
*I will still use other websites for the latest news.
*I don't think any one website is enough to keep us informed on
all the Ty news. I learn different things from a lot of different
sites and we all know how secretive Ty likes to be. And might
I add that Ms Janie is one of my favorites not only for her site
but for her great newsletters and newsflashes to keep us collectors
on top of things. Ms Janie I just don't know how you manage to
find time for it all but just want you to know that the Ty collectors
of the world really appreciate you. You were really missed during
your recent vacations and I hope you know how much we all love
you! How important is it for you to stay abreast of Ty news? It
is very important to me. I like to know if there are any variations
I should be searching for, love the latest rumors and gossip,
and don't want to miss a thing.
How important is it for
you to stay abreast of Ty News?
*Very important. If there's a retirement and it's something you
haven't gotten yet, it helps you to be able to get it before the
prices skyrocket. (If you're quick enough)
* Very important, I check my favorite sites once a day, if I can.
* I like to be informed daily.
* It's important. I like to know when my Beanies retire, or if
there is something new I might like to buy.
* Very important! Ty's lack of communication and providing accurate
information is very frustrating. While some guessing as to what
will happen is fun there is a limit! There have been many instances
where Ty could have provided answers and saved people a lot of
grief.
* I go and check my favorite news sites several times a day.
* It keep me up to date on what I should be looking for and what
is becoming common.
* I rarely check the Ty site for news, I just wait to get the
info from a mailing list of some kind.
* quite important...me miss something? how terrible!
* It used to be more important than it is now. I was on top of
things and got word of TyTrade early. Still couldn't order Speckles
for days and haven't received her yet. I do enjoy your newsletter
and look for Ty news still. Old habits are hard to break, but
my interest is not what it used to be.
* IT'S VERY IMPORTANT
· not very
* I MUST know it all! If I don't know everything, I feel as though
I don't know anything! LOL!
* I like to know what is going on and when an important variation
happens, like digger buddie going ty-dye (missed him in the stores
but at least I knew to look.) I love my buddies and there are
some buddies that I have only seen in stores once like the dino
buddies, I wouldn't have been looking for them with out the info
I have gotten off the internet.
*I enjoy reading your daily newsletter - I check it each morning
before I leave home for my work.
*What in your opinion can Ty do to make his product more collectible
and enjoyable?
*Keep coming up with these soft fabrics. The Buddies have always
been soft but I am really enjoying the newer beanies because the
cuddliness of them is much better.
* Just keep the animals varied-not too many bears...I think the
variety is what makes it great. Thanks for a great site-
*Produce less beanies and buddies in quantity and in style and
retire more quickly.
* I'd personally like to see more prehistoric animals represented.
* TY really needs to limit new introductions..putting out dozens
of beanies and buddies at a time is just too much. I'm running
out of room and the cost is prohibitive. Buying TY items directly
from TY is great!! He should do more. This eliminates the middleman/secondary
dealers as well as putting a damper on the counterfeits. At least
you know that the item you receive are REAL. I know I would definitely
enjoy collecting more if the counterfeit problem is eliminated.
* He has made some improvements in getting product to the collectors
faster which has helped, particularly to countries other than
the US. The product should be in place in all warehouses around
the world when it is announced and shipped at the same time. He
definitely could make things better by posting pictures immediately
after new product has been announced instead of all the secretive
nonsense. Ty knows which items are not selling and needs to retire
these items instead of continually shipping more only to have
them
stacked up on shelves in stores. Once an item is retired stores
should receive no more than one more shipment of the item. I think
Ty's lack of communication in providing accurate information has
been detrimental to the collector.
* Stop playing head games with the people that love Beanies, Post
pix as soon as he introduces them and slow down on the other crappy
lines...IE: KIDS also he should do away with the bigger sized
buddies, I can't see the need...and as they get bigger they are
less cute...IMO
* He is doing a good job. I collect for the thrill of the hunt
and also for the collectiblity of the items. I do NOT like it
when I sit outside a store for five hours (only did this once)
and wait to buy a beanie buddy (Halo) and then see it sitting
on shelves a few months later. Although, he is doing the right
thing if you look at it from a business standpoint. He keeps us
wanting them because we never know if he will retire them quick
or let them be shelf sitters for awhile. He is definitely very
good at predicting how his collectors will react. An A++++ business
man.
* I don't really want him to make it more collectible, that means
making them more scarce! I find the hobby more enjoyable when
the beanies are easy to find. I used to enjoy the hunt aspect,
but now I simply want them without searching! They are getting
much easier to find, but I don't think that is Ty's doing. I think
less people are interested, and that is good news to old time,
true collectors like me.
* ? stop making things so difficult to buy..can't find bears at
stores..can't order Speckles...
* Make Products more available to public.
* Tough questions. I think the Beanie phenomenon is fading. My
8 yr old daughter got us hooked and she has close to 300 Beanies,
Buddies, Attic and a few Kids. My almost 2 year old son is very
attached to MonkeyBaby. She doesn't seem as excited about and
I'm not sure what would get her back into it except new and different
animals (enough dogs and cats already) I believe more retirements
and the possibility of getting something rare would liven things
up a bit.
* RETIRE STUFF EARLY, & DON'T FLOOD THE MARKETT AFTERWARDS,
IF YOU HAVE AN EXCLUSIVE KEEP IT EXCLUSIVE! BBOC NEEDS A MAJOR
OVERHALL DON'T SHIP BEANIES & BUDDIES W/OUT TAG PROTECTERS
YOU WOULDN'T ACCEPT THAT FROM ANYONE ELSE ON THE INTERNET. WE
SHOULDN'T EXCEPT SHABY SHIPPING SLOW ORDERING FROM TY. IT EITHER
HAS TO GO ONE DIRECTION OR THE OTHER. EITHER FLOOD THE MARKETT,
CUT OUT SECONDARY SELLERS ESPEACIALLY TY DIRECT THAT SELL 80+%
OF EVERYTHING SOLD ON EBAY & META. GO MASS MARKET WALL MART
ETC. - OR KEEP IT RESTRICTED W/IN LIMITS, CRACK DOWN ON BACK DOOR
SALES, SORRY I GET CARRIED AWAY. I LOVE BEANIES BUT DO NOT LIKE
TY & THE GAMES HE HAS PLAYED. DEC. 99 NO MORE BEANIES!!! HE
LOST A LOT OF COLECTERS HE WILL NEVER GET BACK W/THAT STUNT! GEORGE---------
* make them available to everyone, not just to those folks in
big cities. "he" closed down our one source here in
the big bend-davis mountaqin section of texas. it forces those
of us in small-town america to have to go to the secondary market.
that is not fair to us. we want beanies at low prices, too. and
you have to have something to trade to make a trade. its a "catch
22" kind of thing: "i need an experienced worker. do
you have any experience?" "no". "next".
"wait a minute. how can i get experience if no one will give
me a job?" how can i trade beanies if i can't get beanies
to trade?
* It feels at times that Ty doesn't even listen to the collectors
which could get very frustrating!! I think if Ty would reveal
a tad more about different things it could make this more enjoyable
for myself instead leaving me wondering about everything LOL!
Sure, he can be a little bit mysterious, that's how he has gotten
as popular as he is today with bean bag toys! Where's Sherlock
Holmes when you need him? LOL
* I think making a smaller line of beanies, with all new styles
could definitely boost his sales. The beanie kids are cute but
to many an acquired taste. People will always love TY for the
simpler toys, they just make you feel like a kid again.
*TY shouldn't retire their items too quickly - not before they
are readily available at retail stores.
*Remember the old days when they were so scarce, and the long
lines and the anticipation. To me part of the mystique of Ty is
and always will be the thrill of the hunt. Maybe there are just
not as many collectors so he should cut production a little and
keep retiring. Also make retirement mean just that. When he opens
up new markets in new countries we should not see old retireds
showing up. When they retired they should stay retired everywhere.
Maybe he should take a step back and look at what made beanies
so popular. I know some won't agree but I miss the old days of
the standing in line with the Beanie Baby handbook in hand trying
to glimpse what might still be available when you finally got
thru the door. In those days there were no beanies shelf sitting.
Do I think Ty can keep beanies collectible ? Of course he can
because he's Ty and a marketing genius. He just needs to bring
back the old thrill of the hunt. You know the saying, people always
want what they can't have, or in this case what they can't find.
