We just found out what the important news was that our friends
at Ty had to tell us! We found out that when we all retire on
December 31, there will be no new Beanies to replace us! Can you
believe it! I just can't imagine the playroom without any Beanies
in it! I asked our friends at Ty what's going to happen to all
of our toys and games. They said that they would donate them to
the shelter. I guess that is a good thing. Oh my goodness!
I just realized something! I really am the last ever Info Beanie!
Gee, that makes
me a little sad. I'm going to go and talk to the other Beanies
and see what they all think

I have been overwhelmed by the response to my announcement that
all Beanies will retire on December 31, 1999. Since the announcement,
there have been thousands of messages posted on websites worldwide
discussing the discontinuation of Beanie Babies. I have received
hundreds of letters from children, educators, hospitals, clinics,
charities and collectors around the world asking me to reconsider
my decision and create new Beanies.
After much thought, I am willing to put the fate of Beanie Babies in your hands. You make the decision. You have inspired the Beanie Babies line through your devotion to them. I will kickoff the new millennium by conducting the first live worldwide vote of its kind, a global vote to determine whether Beanie Babies should, or should not, be continued. Our Beanie Baby factories are shut down, but if you decide that new Beanie Babies should be created, I will re-launch production.
As the new millennium
begins, people in every country and every time zone in the world
will have an opportunity to participate in the "Beanie Babies
Ballot". The global vote will begin on 12/31/99 at 6:00 a.m.
EST, USA.
When you access www.Ty.com you will be asked this question: "Should
Ty create new Beanie Babies in the year 2000?" The website
will give detailed instructions on how to cast a vote by internet
or telephone at that time. On 1/2/00 at 6:00 a.m. EST, USA, the
voting will come to an end. Results will be final and binding.
We will be charging
an amount of U.S. $ .50 (fifty cents) per vote (which requires
credit card validation). This charge should ensure integrity of
the vote, as well as prevent over-voting. Ty employees/vendors/licensees
are not eligible to vote. All proceeds (100%) from the vote will
be donated to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
Regardless of the outcome, children of the world will benefit
from your vote. Remember that it is you that can make a difference

Get ready for new Beanies
The upcoming online poll to determine the fate of Beanie Babies
isn't the only news coming out of Beanieland. Ty Warner, the company's
mystery-loving president, tells USA TODAY in an e-mail that he
has a new creation in the works. "I wanted to come up with
something that would be a total surprise. I did, and we will launch
this new product at the trade shows in January." Absolutely
no details are available, but the Ty Inc.
Web site (www.ty.com) on Tuesday did make a passing remark about
"Ty TV."

Thursday December 30, 1999 2:01 p.m.
I found out what Ty TV is all about! When the Global Polls open
on December 31st at 6 a.m. (EST) the Ty web site will not be a
web site but it will be TV!
How cool is that? It will show what's happening with the voting
live! It's going to be so cool to watch! I wonder how many people
it will take to make all this happen? I should have asked Ty that
when we were talking about it. I bet it's going to take thousands
and thousands! And they will all be working very hard until 5:59
a.m. (EST) January 2nd. That is when the polls will close and
we'll all find out whether or not there will be any more beanies.
It's going to be so exciting watching "Ty TV" during
the polls! Wow! I just thought of something! With all of those
people making this possible we better make more cards! I better
get busy! It's a good thing that we have so many Beanies here!

Ty logo on the bodies. I am assuming that Ty knew parents would
clip the hang tags and therefore he added the embroidered logo.
Baby in Blocks on the outside of the tag. Inside of tag The Pillow
Pals Collection NO POEM As previously reported by Ms. Janie's
Collector's Studio. The eyes are machine embroidered on the fabric.
The rattle is inside the Baby around the neck area. The Ty Logo
is also embroidered as well. In my opinion, the material is the

2000 Ty changes their website
Hello Ms.Janie! I just got Zip the Buddie over the weekend and
was wandering if anybody else noticed that the info on the inside
of Zip's hang tag states: Zip the Beanie Baby was made in 3 styles;
all white, black and white and all black!
Shouldn't it had said ; all white belly! instead of just all white?
Zip does resemble the plush Boots except for the Buddie has the
pink whiskers like the 2nd version all black beanie baby. It's
as if Ty was trying to combine all the beanie baby versions, he
just needed to add a white belly and he would have had a perfect
combination of all 3 beanie babies and would have distinctly set
it apart from his plush Boots.
So far I really like the newest Buddies Ty released. LOL! There
are way too many non-bear favorites in this last release and makes
them hard to resist and no savings for not having beanie babies
to buy!

Special Update on Ty's Beanie Kids.
I made a comment the other day that I thought the Beanie Kids
would be this year's sleeper! Some have written and asked me to
explain.
In my opinion a sleeper is an object or thing that is newly released
and
rejected by many but then gains popularity as time goes by.
If you think about it, Ty's Beanies could be considered sleepers.
Although released in 1993 their popularity did not flourish until
1996.
Ty's Beanie Kids did not receive a warm reception but I think
they will be very popular as time goes on.
Many collectors initially decided that they were not interested
in the line, now many of them have already changed their minds
and have decided to collect the line.
The line will be limited and once officially released will explode.
A word of caution to retailers! Do not pass this line up! Collectors
will want them and will expect for you to carry them. Ms. Janie

We received a note from a reader that deals with fiber and textile
arts
that explains the light color or 'white' areas that appear on
the Bronty Beanie Buddy. The reader says that the Buddy is not
defective and that whites spots or areas are natural for any
tie-dyed item.
With longer fur is difficult to get the dyes evenly distributed
over all of the material, thus the lighter areas.
These light areas do not show up on Beanie Baby because their
"pile" or the length of the fur is much shorter. News

Stefanie shares . . . information on the new Germania Buddy unveiled
at the
Nuremberg ToyFair:
I do have some info on the new Germania Buddy: German retailers
were able to order 6 each at the Nuremberg Toyfair. Mr. Ty Warner
was there himself to introduce the new Buddy to German collectors
like he did last year with Germania Beanie. The new Buddies except
Congo and Osito will be shipped to retailers the end of February,
no later than mid March. Only high priority accounts will receive
Germania Buddy in the first shipment according to
the regional Ty rep in Bavaria. There will be few and far between
this new Buddy as presales on ebay reach $200 already. I will
gladly keep you posted on any new developments here

A kind retailer who attended one of the most recent shows shares the following:
These are descriptions
of the new beanies, which names can be changed before their official
release.
Rumor has it that Banana's name has already been changed.
Ty sure has a way with keeping all of us on our toes!
Oats - The horse with black main, white face, brown body - much more life like looking than Derby. Simply beautiful!
Prince - The frog, the colors are beige, orange and lime.
China - The Panda, four footed bear.
Buzzy or Buzzie - The buzzard is blue with teal colors.
Howl - The wolf, its colors are brown and beige with bright red eyes. Appears larger than the rest of the Beanies. Very well done!
Tricks - The retriever - brown in color.
Pellet - The hamster - very cute, the color is brown.
Huggy or Huggie bear - regular bear with the colors of Rufus light beige and brown.
Slayer - The lizard or salamander - orange and black, has a gray head and his eyes look scaly.
Lurkie - The turkey - gray and white with a turquoise head with red accents
Whiskers - The Airedale dog - gold and brown tones
Banana - The monkey or orangutan - looks like he is wearing orange mittens - his colors are yellow and purple with black eyes. His beard or whiskers are yellow. This is an incredible piece.
Aruba the fish - all kinds of bright colors but very different from Lips - Quite stunning.
Beanie clothes are dynamic - Retailers have to buy 12 of each style!

Holy Bears and Ty Settle Lawsuit
An Open Apology
From HolyBears
We begin this letter of apology with an admission. Beanie Babies
bears were very much in the forefront ofour minds when we got
into this business. Some of the original prototypes we received
from overseas sources, from whom we requested quotes and samples
of beanbag bears, looked like Ty’s Beanie Babies bears. We
did not check with these sources to find out if they had independently
developed these prototypes or copied them from Ty’s Beanie
Babies bears. At the time, we were not aware of Ty’s copyrights,
and we now realize that we started with some designs that looked
very close to the appearance of Ty’s Beanie Babies bears.
Thus, our use of these original prototypes to make changes and
develop our bears was the wrong approach for development of the
HolyBears product. We should have rejected use of such sample
prototypes until we knew no copying had occurred at the source.We
were also wrong in making statements about our dismay with Ty
filing its lawsuit against us. Our statements were made in anger
and without actual knowledge of Ty’s intent. Ty’s only
purpose in filing its lawsuit
against us was to rightfully protect Ty’s own wonderful creation
– Beanie Babies bears. Thus, it was never Ty’s intent
or desire to stop the spread of God’s Word, and it was wrong
of us to have said otherwise.
We have asked for and have generously received Ty’s forgiveness
for our actions and our false statements about Ty’s filing
its lawsuit against us. We sincerely apologize for our misstatements
and hope you will find it in your heart to forgive us as Ty has
so graciously done.
We have settled our litigation with Ty. We have redesigned our
bears so that they are truly an independent creation of HolyBears,
and that has been incorporated in our Settlement. Ty has graciously
consented that we may sell the remaining inventory of our older
items.

4-4-2001 FAKE SAKURA PASSES HEAT TEST
The Ty heat test
has been a real concern for most.
I have received a ton of conflicting e-mail regarding the heat
test to determine the authenticity of Beanie Babies with the 4FWEZTKT
tush tag number. Reports have come in that some have passed and
some have failed.
I conducted several test using a hair dryer on the tags of the FAKE Sakura's that Ty has declared fake and they passed. Explanation - It was previously thought that if you applied heat to the back of the tushtag and the heart disappeared and did not come back that you have a fake Beanie.
After several test which you can find photos here - I am sorry to inform you that these fakes are better than originally thought. They did pass the heat test making them appear to be authentic when in fact they are fake. THE HEART DID INDEED COME BACK!

Before you ship
your beanies back for a refund please consider doing the following:
I would strongly advise you to photograph your Beanies that you
suspect are fake.
Save all e-mails and contact information from your seller .
Send your Beanies back and request a signature to ensure delivery.
Save the original packaging that your product was shipped in.
Save all documentation of original method of payment.
If your future
purchases are bought off of an auction, consider printing the
auction page information.
Buyer beware! Ratings in most cases can be misleading, know your
seller and be cautious!
For those of you trying to return fake Sakura's for a refund.
Protect yourself and others by becoming educated and passing on
information relevant to this problem. If you have additional questions
