MC Bear - Master Card - Update
In last night's newsletter I shared a note from Sly regarding changes made to the MC Bear offer.
Hi Ms Janie!
I just wanted you and your readers to know that Ty has changed
some of the terms and conditions of the MC beanie offer. Yesterday
The offer read That the MC Beanie offer was limited and only good
thru February 28,2002. Now it reads the offer is only good thru
November 30,2001!!
Also Ty changed the introductory rate on the card from 3.9% to
1.7%
Anyone who wants to take advantage of the MC Beanie offer now
has 3 months less time!

SINCE THEN the following has happened.
I started receiving
e-mail from collectors informing me that the change had not taken
place on the Ty site and they were now confused.
I visited the Ty site and too was surprised at the 3.9% interest
rate.

Sly for the address he viewed the new rate on, which he gave to

I then called the number on the page to verify the information.
Unfortunately I was told that they were still under the impression
that the current rate was 3.9%. I informed the gentleman of whom
I was and explained the situation. He put me on hold to try to
get additional information.
I was told the following:
The current rate is 3.9% BUT there may be some changes being made
that he is unaware of. He also said that if the rate if lowered
it would be retroactive for customers.
BOTTOM LINE -
It appears that there will be a rate change but it's anyone's
guess as to when this will happen! It's the old story; one hand
not knowing what the other one is doing. LOL

Ty has finally updated their site to include the new low rate offer of 1.7% for six months on transfer balances or cash advances.
The APR (Annual percentage rate is 12.99% ) There is NO annual fee
According to the phone rep I spoke with here are the details. For every 500 dollars spent you will receive a special Ty Plush product. This number has come down from the original 5,000 spent. She said there would be additional information in my welcome packet on points.
I am not much
of a credit card user but the 1.7% encouraged me to do some early
Christmas shopping. I will transfer the balance, which allows
me 6 months to make payments at a 1.7% rate. Can't beat that
with a stick! LOL

through your first six statement closing dates, or earlier if
your payment is late; after that, 12.99%.
PLEASE read all details carefully! If you have any questions call
the 800# they are VERY nice people to talk with. I had a ton of

I would strongly advise you to photograph your Beanies that you
suspect are fake.
Save all e-mails and contact information from your seller .
Send your Beanies back and request a signature to ensure delivery.
Save the original packaging that your product was shipped in.
Save all documentation of original method of payment.
If your future purchases are bought off of an auction, consider
printing the auction page information.
Buyer beware! Ratings in most cases can be misleading, know your
seller and be cautious!

are a little bigger than the Teenies, are called Jingle Beanies,
have a corded ornament hook and are in same fabric as the original

This is a flyer that is currently being distributed around Canberra

advertises the official release of beanies in Australia. As you
know, the official Ty opening is Friday at Taronga Zoo (Sydney
- which has to be the most picturesque zoo in the world), this
is the first Retailer announcement I have heard of. Cardeaux are
a very big Card retailer

Europe has recalled Noelle, the Beanie Kid. It’s reported
that some
samples of the Kid ‘do not meet the European Standards applicable
to toys in one respect’. From the letter sent to Ty Europe

Hope you are enjoying some quality time with your family and friends
this Thanksgiving. Just in case you couldn't resist the urge to
log on, I am sending you photos of my now complete set of International
Attics -
Rhine, Tudor, Logan and Kyoto.
As you can see from the photos, in the fur the bears have more
variation between their fur colour than is apparent on the Ty
Announcement pictures. Tudor and Kyoto are also a little smaller
than the other two.

WHAT A SPECIAL BEAR!
As a member of the Coral Casino I was so excited to receive the
limited edition Coral Casino Bear at our holiday party on December
9! As you can see by the pictures, the bear is a beautiful coral
color and has the Coral Casino logo embroidered on its chest in
teal. I think it's one of the prettiest bears ever made by Ty.

There has been much controversy concerning Sakura's tag. Collectors have been concerned about their Sakura Beanie Babies. Many were confused about the authenticity of their tags and were unaware of an (.) after the word age on the back of the tag.
The truth about
the REAL Sakura Tags!
While I believe this information is accurate I am NOT an authenticator.
The information provided came from trusted sources and they all
had a common link. I would suggest that if this bear makes you
feel uneasy you may want to have it authenticated.

Looks Like the rumors were right!
Ty has applied to register 2 new Trademarks.
According to the US Trademark database on December 27,2001
Ty applied to register a trademark on "The Teenie Beanie
Bopper Collection"
and
"Teenie Beanie Boppers"
Ty lists "plush Toys" as the good and services for both
of these 2 new trademarks.
I Guess Ty collectors will be heading to McDonalds this year for
burgers, fries and Teenie boppers!-LOL

BEING SOLD ON CLUBBY IV BUTTONS
Please view the page carefully and become familiar with Ty's signature
and be careful not to purchase a fake signed Clubby IV.
These bears have all been sent for authentication and other than
the authentic Ty signed piece the remainder came back as forged
signatures.

2-20-2002 The Internet is all a BUZZ about a new bear called MUM from Ty!
Is MUM a German exclusive??? This bear has shipped to retailers in Germany and photos are showing up on various sites.
Will we see this bear or will it be a German exclusive? The poem is written in English but the verbiage is German. This bear could have been shipped early to Germany because they celebrate Mother's Day earlier than we do in the states.
Maybe, just maybe Ty will release a Mother's Day bear for each country!!! Now wouldn't that drive us all batty?
Just thinking
out loud!!! I tend to do this whenever I'm stressed! Just need
to grab a couple more cups of hot tea and I'll be just fine! LOL

in Australia and New Zealand and yes - it's true! I received one
of the special Ty collector's cards yesterday - scans are attached.

now-retired blue America bear in the aftermath of the September
11 tragedy, generating $1.1 million for the American Red Cross
Disaster
Relief Fund through a donation of 100 percent of profits. The
generosity of Mr. Warner and Ty Inc. continues with their creation
of a second America bear, this one designed to recognize the local
efforts of Red Cross Chapters throughout the country who provide
lifesaving services and education to our communities 24 hours
a day, 365 days a year. "Our first 'America' bear was such
a success with customers, I knew they would want a second one,"
said Ty Warner, president of Ty. "The new 'America' bear
is our way of saying thank you to Red Cross chapters that help
people in communities every day. I hope both collectors and the

I received my Red America's today but one of them had a swing
tag on it that had "Baby Boy" on the inside of it.
Birthdate is March 3, 2002.
The poem says:
Ten little fingers,
ten little toes
A tuft of hair, a button nose
This healthy bouncing baby boy
Will bring you love and lots of joy!
I tried to scan
it and send a photo along but I'm not real good with the scanner.
Hope you can see this fairly well.
I don't quite know what to do with this little bear. Would it
be considered an oddity or do you suppose there is a new Beanie
Baby Boy coming out soon? Any help would be appreciated.
