Ms. Janie,
What do you think of the 2004 Teenies?
Greg
I truly believe that this batch of Teenies Beanies symbolize two great companies coming together to honor McDonalds and their franchises in the celebration of 25 years of Happy Meals.
Ty Teenie Beanies were offered as Happy Meal Toys in April of 1997 and were worldly popular. It would stand to reason why McDonalds would choose Ty to be part of this celebration. Together, they make a combination that simply can't be beat!
The 2004 collection is superbly made when compared to years past. The stickers, which occasionally fell off, have been replaced with stitched patches to the delight of many! The colors are vibrant and the toys themselves are collectibles as they represent an icon, McDonalds.
Janie;
A friend heard Ty will be shipping only every 90 days? Is this
what you have heard?
It has been the opinion of many including myself that Ty appears to be going back to his old ways of releasing product. It appears that we may be instore for larger releases and retirements, which will stager instead of be announced in one's and two's. This is not to say that Ty will not release and retire singular products throughout the months. Please visit the following link for an open letter from Ty to retailers that might explain this better.

Ms. Janie
It must be lonely in cyberspace being a Beanie webmaster with
not many sites left reporting on Ty. How do you feel about this?
Christina
While I do miss a lot of my online Beanie webmaster friends, many of them still stay in touch and we still have one thing in common, Beanies are what brought us together. Many hours are dedicated to a website and I truly believe very few have any idea of what it takes to maintain a site on a daily basis. I still manage to communicate with a few webmasters who have been around for a while and cherish their support and friendship. As with time, changes are immanent and expected but when you lose a site like Randy and Theresa's it really hurts! They were honest, gave credit when credit was due and maintained a professional attitude towards the hobby.
I have often times said that it's not only the products that make this hobby so widely popular, it is without a doubt the people who collect that keep me coming back for more! Ty collectors are very sensitive people with big hearts who show an abundance of generosity. Their willingness to help others far surpasses collectors of any other collectible line I know.
While I believe cyberspace will continue to grow, I also believe Ty collectors will continue to enter the marketplace. No it may not ever be what it once was, BUT the excitement, collectiblity and thrill Ty offers will always be embedded in our minds and a welcoming thrill for new collectors!
Jen LaPointe ask what is the best way to store beanies for long periods of time?
There are a few things you must
remember while storing your Beanies.
1. NEVER store them in an attic or any place that this subject
to temperature change.
2. ALWAYS make sure your Beanies are well ventilated.
3. Be careful about the location you choice, make sure it is not
susceptible to smells.
Collectors have successfully stored their Beanies in a variety of ways, here are a few that may interest you.
Plastic display cases are a perfect
way of displaying and storing your Beanies.
Acid FREE paper is another way of storing Beanies.
Glad vegetable bags are another option for massive storage. These
bags allow your Beanies to breathe and avoids condensation. Some
collectors take extra precaution and wrap their Beanies in acid
free paper and them place them in the Glad vegetable bags before
storing them in large containers.
Hi Ms Janie
I was hoping you could help me. Where can I find beanie display
cases like the ones TY had for sale a few years ago. I want to
be able to display my international bears but also keep them from
getting dusty.
Beanie display cases can be purchased from the following sites

Hi, Ms. Janie, I hope you're
doing well.
My question, which has come up at various times on the Ty board
(with no conclusive answer), is:
Was there, in fact, only ONE or were there two versions/variations
of the Addison Beanie Baby at the baseball game giveaway?
From what I can remember, I thought that there was only one (the version with the letter "A" in the tush tag with the White on top of red ribbon around the neck and a white knot). I remember very well because I wanted one at the time but couldn't afford the high prices that people were asking on eBay. Virtually all of the Addisons that I saw for sale at the time had the game ticket included, and this version had the white ribbon on top. Not long afterwards, what seemed to me to be the retail version of Addison began appearing for sale on eBay with game cards included. This version had the red ribbon on top but none included a game ticket. I also learned, shortly after, that a game card for Addison had been counterfeited. There are a few supersellers on eBay who have sold hundreds (if not thousands) of what I think is the G version of Addison (red ribbon on top) with game card, but I really question whether these are the real deal. I really don't know. Recently on the board, some of the posters have pointed out that there were, in fact, two versions of Addison given away at the game, so now I'm really confused. Do you think you can shed any light on this or know of anyone who can? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for all the time you give
to us and also for your patience.
Take care,
Helen in Toronto

Ms. Janie
I trust your judgement and sound advise but have a rather difficult
question to ask of you. Why do you think Ty does not reveal their
products for collectors to view? I find their practices rather
disturbing and question their loyalty to retailers and collectors.
Your question required a
lot of thought and soul searching.
Although I totally understand the frustration that many experience,
myself included, I also tried to view the situation from a company's
viewpoint.
Ty is a mastermind at puzzles, mind games and playing the waiting
game.
In my opinion, he has collectors hooked and wants to give them
bits and pieces just to wet their appetite.
In other words, why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free?
Sometimes their strategies work and other times they back fire.
Collectors truly have accepted many of Ty's practices but would
like the games to progress a little faster. For some patience
is NOT a virtue; instead it's a turnoff.
Dear Ms. Janie,
I was wondering, How do you tell if Magic the dragon has light
pink stitching for the wings or hot pink?
Thank you for your e-mail.
From what I remember, the hot pick thread is very pink; the light
pink is a washed out pink, almost white looking.
Dear Janie, I was in San Francisco
this past weekend and ventured into a store featuring Ty products.
They had numerous Halo beanie babies that were pastel colors.
There was a peach, light blue, light green, lavender and more....a
variety of colors. The owner wasn't there to talk with. Are these
for real? I haven't heard of them before. Are they fakes? Everything
on the bear was the same shade, from the body, the halo, to the
wings. Let me know about these bears. They were beautiful.
Sincerely, Karen
More than likely these Bears
are real and have just been dyed. Many collectors are dying the
bears to suit their own personal needs.
