I lieu of
Ty's latest announcement, it would appear that once again a few
counterfeits have surfaced.
Collector's
Beware - There is no such thing as a dumb question. If you are
suspicious about an online item, which you purchased, know that
there is help available. There are a few sites, which are knowledgeable
enough to assist you and help relieve your mind.
Please
do not panic and assume that all online Beanies are fakes.
A
special thanks to Ed Bogusch for sending me a copy of his tag
to share with all collectors.
This next graphic
is the tag off of my Kiwi.
In (1996) Ty had
the web site: http://www.ty.com printed on their new tags.
Unfortunately Ty did not own the domain name at this time, therefore
a white sticker was placed over the web address.
If you own a Beanie with the website address cut off the bottom
of the hangtag, don't panic, this was another way of removing
the address.
After comparing the two
tags, I have determined the following.
Ed's tag - The first tag at the top of the
page has some problems.
1. Notice the c for copyright on the left-hand side of the tag.
There is NO circle around the c. Compare his tag to my tag. My
tag clearly has the proper display for the copyright symbol. ©
2. View the right hand side of Ed's tag. There is an extra space
after the word Kiwi . Now view my tag, there is NO space
between Kiwi
3. The last discrepancy I saw was as follows; On Ed's tag view
that DATE OF BIRTH 9 - 16- 95 - Now view my DATE OF BIRTH 9-16-95.
Ed's Date of birth is missing a space after the 16
