FAKE INFORMATION
Ms. Janie,
The bear itself you can tell. The fabric is too long and the eyes have those earrings post type backs instead of the smooth nobby things on authentic ones. The tags are different. When I looked at photos of past ebay auctions with the German tags they appear identical. The only thing I noticed was the lack of an additional number after the barcode on the back of the swing. This hang tag even has the sticker that says "made in korea surface" like the real ones. The "Y" on the front of the swing doesn't touch the gold lining like most of the fakes and it's the right sized tag. What is wrong with it (and you can't tell by pics) is the font size, paper is too thin and the attacher hole is wrong. The tush tag (again...can't tell by pics) is too small and the font is wrong and too bold. When comparing it to an authentic one that is from China you can see the difference in person. I bought this beanie at a show in Houston back in October. I recently acquired one that had been authenticated by Peggy G. and that's when I noticed the difference. So I sent it to her and it came back fake. I took it to show a friend who deals in beanies and it fooled her and several others so I sent it to Becky E. She too said it was fake. So it fooled people even in person. I think it's the tags that does it and not the beanie itself.
Thanks!!
Karen
