NEWSLETTER INFORMATION regarding some servers blocking mail to some of my readers.
Dear Ms. Janie,
I am still not receiving your daily newsletter. After spending
over an hour on the telephone with Verizon tech support,
it seems that your newsletter is being blocked internally by Verizon.
Why, who knows. According to tech support there is nothing they
can do about it, something in the newsletter raised red flags.
Since I have put your address in my address book, the problem
should straighten itself out in 30 to 45 days. This sounds somewhat
like what is going on with your AOL members. The tech support
tells me this is for my protection, but I told them that I didn't
need protected from you and I wanted to get the newsletter. We'll
see what happens. Keep up your great work and until I get the
newsletter I just visit your site each day.
Eleanor

Hi Ms. Janie,
I am one of your lost AOL
members. I decided to try live
technical support today to see if I could get them to solve the
problem. Here is a copy of my chat with AOL. Maybe it will help.
Karen
Hello, k. Welcome to Live Technical Support.
My name is Austin.
**** stated the question or problem as: I have been getting a
newsletter through email. It stopped arriving so I contacted them.
All AOL members are having the same problems. How can I get my
newsletter back?.
Are you signed on with the same computer that you need assistance
with?
You say, Yes
TechLiveANIK says, From where exactly are you getting this e-mail
? Which web site ?
You say, msjanie.com TechLiveANIK says, Thank you for the information.
TechLiveANIK says, Is the missing e-mail in your Spam Folder?
You say, No. She can send messages that do get through. She thinks
it may be the links in the email or the length that may be a factor.
She tried to forward one and got an error message.
TechLiveANIK says, Please tell me the exact message you received.
TechLiveANIK says, I mean your friend received.
You say, She didn't say exactly what the error message said but
all her aol users are having the same problems
TechLiveANIK says, Are you able to send mails to this person ?
You say, Yes and she is in my address book. It seems like the
problem started around the holidays so has a new spam filter started
recently.
TechLiveANIK says, Let's make sure your Mail and Spam Controls
are set so that you're not blocking e-mail from the sender, from
the sender's domain, or with certain content (hyperlinks, pictures,
or words). We also need to check where
blocked mail is going.
You say, how do I do that
TechLiveANIK says, Please go to AOL Keyword: Spam Controls. Where
is the Advanced Spam Filter set - OFF, LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH? What
is selected next to "Words and Phrases Filter," "Sender
Filter," and "Content Filter?" Click EDIT to check
and/or change these settings.
You say, the filter is set at medium and the additional filters
are off
TechLiveANIK says, Good.
TechLiveANIK says, Your individualized AOL Advanced Spam Filter
removes Spam based on how you use e-mail. We can reset it to the
default. From AOL Keyword: Spam Controls, click the AOL'S ADVANCED
SPAM FILTERS link. Click CLEAR FILTER.
You say, OK I did that should I set the filter to low
TechLiveANIK says, No, MEDIUM is perfect. I am too set at MEDIUM.
TechLiveANIK says, There is one more reason why you did not receive
this e-mail.
You say, What is that
TechLiveANIK says, AOL may have received large amounts of junk
e-mail from someone using this domain name.

A comment from Ms. Janie,
The following comment from AOL has accompanied all of their responses from readers regarding their problems receiving my newsletter.
(TechLiveANIK says, AOL may have received large amounts of junk e-mail from someone using this domain name.
Well, if this is the case its all of my newsletters bouncing because they have blocked them with their spam filters? It appears that every time AOL makes a change in their filters or revises a new version of their software, there is a problem for many getting my newsletter.
Please consider making the above-suggested changes AOL recommends seeing if it resolves your newsletter issues.
I hope that this issue can be resolved soon,
Ms. Janie

Hi Ms Janie,
Just wanted to let you know that I have AOL and received this
newsletter from you...at 3:54 PM.
Now I think I know why I didn't get emails about the January releases
or I Love Ireland. I guess they must have been in newsletters
that AOL did not accept.
Lynn

Ms. Janie,
I spoke with a tech at AOL who said the problem may be software related. He suggested
me changing my settings but he walked me through it and I can
not recall all the steps to share, hopefully one of your others
readers will be able to help. Angela

This is not the first time aol has done this and it probably will not be the last. I will be changing servers soon because I have had it with aol and their controlling of my e-mails.
