I have written you a few times in the past. My name is Jon. After September 11, I wrote to you about America Bear being on Ebay and that as a RED CROSS Employee that I was totally offended.

The reason I am writing is that today we received a notice from National Red Cross about a Promotion that is to start March 1st.

As soon as I read it I had to come email it to you. I am so excited.

Ty will be introducing a "WHITE" America Bear to be sold online only during the month of March. (March is Red Cross Month). The exciting news for us is that whereas the blue America Bear's profits went to National Disaster Relief Fund, the white bear will use the zip code of the buyers address to help support the local chapters all over the country. The majority of disaster response is to single family events such as a single family house fire. These costly disasters must be paid for locally. The White America Bear that will be helping to fund local disasters will be a major help to smaller chapters across America.

The official release from The American Red Cross is as follows:
Ty Inc., makers of Beanie Babies, has created a new white "America" bear to be sold exclusively online to benefit chapters during March, Red Cross month. The white "America" bear immediately follows the blue "America" bear, which generated more than $1.1 million for the Disaster Relief Fund through Ty's donation of 100 percent of profits to the Red Cross. Beginning March 1, Ty will donate 100 percent of proceeds from the sale of white "America" to local chapters.
